MLB responded. But bigger question remains.

MLB responded. But bigger question remains.

MLB responded. But bigger question remains.

Over the past several weeks, Faith Driven Consumers across the country have united around the stories of faith-driven San Francisco Giants pitcher Landen Roupp, Washington Nationals pitcher Trevor Williams, and before them, NBA player Jaden Ivey. Different athletes. Different leagues. Same growing concern.

Thousands of you signed our “Add-Us-In: Stand with Faith-Driven Athletes and Fans” petitions after MLB warned Giants pitchers for writing Genesis 9:12–16 on their Pride Night hats and after concerns were raised that Christian athletes could face unequal treatment when they express their faith openly.

Today, we’re taking the next step. Faith Driven Consumer has sent a formal letter to Commissioner Rob Manfred and Major League Baseball’s leadership requesting a meeting and asking one simple question:  “Will Major League Baseball Welcome, Embrace, Celebrate, and Affirm Faith Driven Consumers equally?”

We’ve also shared that invitation directly with MLB’s leadership, reached out to 2026 MLB All-Stars asking them to stand with Faith Driven Consumers, and this week reaffirmed our request by sending a formal FedEx letter to Major League Baseball (which arrives today).

Thank you for standing with us. Please continue praying for Commissioner Manfred, Major League Baseball’s leadership, the players, and everyone involved in these conversations. Pray that God would open doors, grant wisdom, and lead to a constructive outcome. We also encourage you to share this update with friends, family, and your church so more Faith Driven Consumers can stand together.

While the Commissioner recently clarified that the Giants pitchers would not be disciplined, he also stated that writing the Bible verse violated league policy and would not be permitted in the future.

For Faith Driven Consumers, that response leaves the larger question unanswered.

If Major League Baseball can intentionally welcome, embrace, celebrate, and affirm other recognized communities, will it do the same for Faith Driven Consumers?

That is the question we are now asking directly.

The stories of Landen Roupp and Trevor Williams brought us here. But this has always been about something bigger.

It is about the millions of Faith Driven Consumers who are already part of baseball—as fans, families, players, coaches, employees, business partners, and members of the communities MLB serves. We love the game. We support the game. We simply want to know whether Faith Driven Consumers will be welcomed equally.

As we await MLB’s response, we invite you to read the letter we sent to Commissioner Rob Manfred and Major League Baseball’s leadership.
